Editor Guidelines

SeriesScience maintains a high standard of published journals. For us, it is important to check and sustain the high quality of research work for the scientific community. This needs the contribution of the Editors. A lot depends on the Editors. In our community, it is the Editor who has the final call regarding the publishing of a manuscript. The role of an Editor includes more than just approving or declining the manuscript. They play a key role in enhancing the quality of a journal.

Roles and Responsibilities of Editors
All manuscript published by SeriesScience go through two Editorial rounds. At the initial stage, an individual editor is entrusted with the responsibility of assessing the quality of each manuscript submitted by any author. It is then passed on to the Editor with review or comment on the manuscript. The Editor decides whether to publish the manuscript or not. The Editorial Board has highly qualified professionals from across the globe. These Editors are responsible for ensuring that the journals follow the objective and guidelines set by SeriesScience and also are of high quality.
The Roles and Responsibilities of the Editors include:
  • Handling each Manuscript: One of the key responsibilities of an Editor is checking the quality of the manuscript. After evaluation, the Editor decides whether the manuscript is fit for publishing or not. In case the manuscript needs any alteration, the Editor will decide the same. In fact, the main responsibility of an Editor is to manage the entire peer review process.
  • Ethics Related to the Publication: As SeriesScience follows all the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics or COPE, it is extremely important to maintain the morals related to publishing a journal. Our qualified team of Editors makes sure that the manuscript is written according to the guideline set by COPE. To know more about the publication ethics you can send an email.
  • Promoting the Journals: The success of a particular journal depends on the promotion. The Editorial Board is responsible to promote the journals and support the same.
  • Appointing Editors: The Editorial Board is also responsible for appointing new Editors. This solely depends on the volume of a manuscript submitted. In case a board member retires or need for more members arise, SeriesScience will take the responsibility of recruiting new Editors for the board. To become a member of the Editorial Board, the person must possess required qualification. Also, they should have a proven track record of well-published articles.
  • Approval of Special Issues: The Editorial Board appoints a single editor to take care of the special issue known as the Guest Editor. Any of the Editorial Board members can volunteer to work as a Guest Editor or this person can be appointed from outside as well. The special issue aims at improving and exploring most persuasive dimensions related to science. The editorial board of the journal is requested to raise a special issue, once approved by the members of the board; the special issue is coined.
  • Handling Special Issue: Once the Editorial Board accepts the special issue, the corresponding guest editor takes charge from there onwards. The respective guest editor is responsible for stating the contribution of the special issue in the improvement of the journals. Once the entire process of a special issue has been addressed, a section within the website is provided by the Editorial Board for addressing a special issue.
Conflicts Related to Editors
If you have shared any past employment with the assigned author or you have written a paper with the author, there is a chance of a conflict of interest between the two. However, we at SeriesScience avoid paring such authors and editors. It is better to declare such association whether past or current to SeriesScience immediately. This helps in avoiding any sort of conflict in the near future.
